Basic Function of Position:

The successful applicant will work in partnership with other TFG advocates/consultants to develop and manage client legislative, policy and federal funding-related services.  Areas of responsibility will include: direct advocacy and support of partner advocacy on behalf of TFG clients before federal elected and administration officials and their staffs; serve as a liaison to, and foster key relationships with, legislative and government officials; review, analyze, and report on legislative, congressional, judicial, and agency activity impacting clients; and ensure appropriate firm/client participation in government, non-profit, association and industry forums.


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant bachelor’s degree. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

In-depth knowledge of one or more legislative, policy and federal funding issue sectors (transportation, general municipal experience).  Requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience. 


Proficient writer and oral communicator.  Maintain the firm’s high level of service to clients; encourage and facilitate cooperation; mentor, develop, and motivate team members. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices; make recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.   Regular and substantial contact with clients, other TFG/client team members, federal congressional and administration officials, and TFG affiliates and partners. Requires the ability to work under stress, with interruptions and deadlines and the ability to frequently face deadlines with attention to detail, and complete tasks and required documentation in a timely manner. Requires demonstrated ability to be organized and flexible in an environment which requires continuous monitoring of priorities.
