Medco's Public Policy and External Affairs (PPEA) group seeks to fill a full-time, regular position for a high-level executive assistant in its Washington, DC office. This key position provides support to Public Policy and External Affairs colleagues located in DC. This requires a seasoned candidate who thrives in a creative professional environment.

Specific Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Provide discrete and confidential coordination of sensitive company and non-company information
Anticipate travel needs of executive and independently coordinate complex travel arrangements typically involving multiple changes and destinations based on an understanding of executive's availability and obligations. Support executive with travel documentation, procedures, itineraries, etc.
Maintain daily calendar ensure he remains on schedule and properly prioritized throughout the day given the changing business requirements. Ensures that schedule reflects priorities and critical objectives. Scheduled meetings should have an objective or purpose. Works to ensure schedule includes time to get work completed.
Provide telephone coverage and back up support for other executive assistants
Use discretion in interfacing with all levels of individuals, internally and externally. Is pleasant and cordial, placing the office in positive position.
Coordinate schedules, manage executives calendar, organize meetings and conference calls and help executive manage his daily/weekly/monthly schedule. Schedule should reflect priorities and critical objectives.
Anticipate needs and accomplish responsibilities without direction
Proactively seek ways to relieve executive of administrative detail
Assist in managing expense accounts and budgets
Manage multiple projects and priorities and initiate follow up to ensure timely achievement of commitments
Use company knowledge and judgment in answering routine and non-routine inquiries; direct inquiries to appropriate resources in cases where personal contact with executive is not necessary or appropriate.
Prepare presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other business information/ correspondence
daily/weekly/monthly schedule. Schedule should reflect priorities and critical objectives.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum 5 years experience supporting senior-level management in a corporate environment
PC proficiency; competencies in Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Strong experience / competence with Outlook calendar management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective problem solver through initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and self-motivation
Consistently energized with appropriate sense of urgency
Unyielding integrity and ability to preserve absolute confidentiality
Ability to handle pressure-packed, demanding environment with flexibility and calmness
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, clients and others; gives others complete confidence that their needs are being met
Excellent organizational and administration skills; strong attention to detail
Ability to manage time and multiple tasks simultaneously; establish priorities to meet deadlines
Flexibility in working overtime

Relevant Capitol Hill experience and working knowledge of government relations required.
